Pick Of The Litter (Book Review)

RUBY'S SLIPPERS by Leanna Ellis

An absolutely delightful book! Leanna Ellis does a fantastic job of weaving the elements of THE WIZARD OF OZ into a totally modern story. With amazing wit and insight Leanna pulls the reader into the story of Dottie Meyers a thirty-five year old former teacher-turned-caregiver and farmer.

Dottie loves her Kansas farm but her witch of a sister wants to sell it. A tornado destroys her farm and Dottie awakes from a coma to find herself on the West Coast. She's not in Kansas anymore. With this awakening, she discovers a special gift left by her the father she hasn't seen since she was four.

Traveling with a cast of enduring characters reminiscent of the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion, Dottie and her dog Otto, set out in search of her powerful father but she keeps running into her Heavenly Father along the way.

You will be sad that the story ends but the satisfying answer to Dottie's search will warm your soul. Not only would I recommend this book but I'll definitely read it again and again. RUBY'S SLIPPERS - a perfect fit.
